Meeting Minutes: June 8th, 2009

The following minutes were taken at the June 8th meeting. These minutes are pending approval.

Attending: Erica Brown, Tom Dauwalder, Diane Dauwalder, Cindi Griffin, Carol Keefe, Dee Moynihan, Eric Hieser, Diane Dockery, Tom Fink, Barbara Goyadis, Kelly Depin, Jack Veiga.

Meeting begins at 7:06 p.m.

1. Approval of last month's minutes

2. Treasurer's report: Ending Balance is $9958.31

3. Guests from Special Occasion Limo and TLC Quality Transportation propose an alternative to the P&B bus for Sturgis students and faculty.

4. Administration update by Eric Hieser: -Graduation of Class of 2009 was Sunday. It was a warm & lovely day with many emotions and passions expressed.

-Convocation will be August 31st at Cape Cod Community College. First day of school is September 2nd.

-The waiting list for 9th and 10th grade has 160 students.

- Sturgis has been asked to present in Quebec at the IB Conference in July. Eric has been asked to present in Seville, Spain.

-Newsweek Report coming soon...

5. After-prom report by Erica Brown: The after-prom went very smoothly and was well run by Willy's Gym. There was more than enough food. Next year we will need more chaperons. Permission slips should go out to students with prom tickets. Erica suggests a filed trip to Willy's for the prom committee.

6. New Officers/Interim Officers & Committee Chairs: Retiring from the SPA Committee are Erica Brown, Tom Morin and Cindi Griffin. Tom Dauwalder volunteers to stay on as Treasurer. Tom Fink volunteers to Chair and Barbara Goyadis volunteers to Co-Chair. Cindi Griffin offers to continue as Secretary until another parent volunteers and will continue to run SturgisParents.com next year. Nominees will be posted on SturgisParents.com for 30 days per SPA bylaws and the SPA Election will be held at the summer meeting or at the first SPA meeting in September.
